§ 22-3. Discharging firearms.

  • (a)

    No person shall discharge any firearm within the town except:

    (1)

    At an authorized shooting range; or

    (2)

    During the course of hunting within those areas of the town lying within the agricultural zoning districts and located more than one hundred (100) yards from any business, dwelling, public roadway or public utility site.

    (b)

    This section shall not apply to any law-enforcement officer in the discharge of his official duties nor to any other person whose discharge of a firearm is justifiable or excusable at law in the protection of his life or property or is otherwise specifically authorized by law.

    (c)

    A violation of this section constitute a Class 1 misdemeanor.
